David Schroeder's "From the Minds of Jazz Musicians" interview series would make for a captivating bookstore reading event. Schroeder's two published volumes, "From the Minds of Jazz Musicians: Conversations with the Creative and Inspired," celebrate jazz artists who have toiled, struggled, and succeeded in carving out their own creative space. Culled from 65 artist interviews conducted over a 10-year period, these volumes provide an intimate window into the lives and perspectives of a diverse array of musicians. Audiences will be enthralled as Schroeder shares biographical sketches, artists' revealing their personal life stories, and the hard-earned wisdom that comes from both the successes and failures experienced in their musical journeys. With the goal of discovering the person behind the public persona, Schroeder elicits conversations that speak volumes on the creative process, mining the perspectives of seminal artists who have witnessed history in the making, allowing their candid and direct opinions on music to shine through.
